PAINTING AND PINTS FAQS

1. What is "Paint and Pints"?

It’s a relaxed, beginner-friendly painting night held in a pub! I guide you step by step through a fun painting—no experience necessary. All materials are provided. Check the paintings and pints page for dates.

2. How much is "Paint and Pints"?

The starting price is 45 euros.

3. Do I need any painting experience?

Not at all. Most people who come have never painted before (or haven’t since school). Chris guides everyone step by step—you'll leave with a finished painting you’re proud of.

4. What language is the session in?

English. Chris is Irish, and the whole workshop is run in English. Everyone is welcome. However, if you are stuck for words, Chris can also explain everything in German too.

5. Is a drink included?

Yes! Your first pint (or soft drink) is included in the ticket price. You can buy extra drinks from the bar at normal prices.

6. Can I buy more drinks during the session?

Absolutely. The Long Hall bar is open, and you’re welcome to order more pints, wine, soft drinks, or food whenever you like. (The more you drink, the more you think you’re Da Vinci ;) )

7. What about parking?

Street parking in the area is limited (short-term paid zone). The easiest options are:

• Public transport (Rathaus U2 / tram stops are a 3–5 minute walk)

• Nearby public garages (e.g. Hamerlingplatz Tiefgarage is a short walk away)

8. What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint on. We provide aprons, but some paint can still find its way onto sleeves.

9. How long is the session, and what time should I arrive?

Sessions last 2 hours. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so we can get you set up with materials and your free drink. Sessions may run overtime, so if you are in a later session, please be patient. You will get your full two hours.

10. Can I come alone?

Yes—many people do. It’s a friendly, social atmosphere and a great way to meet others.

11. Is the painting mine to keep?

Yes. You take your finished painting home at the end of the session. You also get a frame so you can hang it directly on your wall.

12. What if I need to cancel or change my booking?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to help. Cancellation before the day of the event can be transferred to another date. Cancellation on the day of counts as a no-show.

1. Do you take commissions?

Yes! I offer custom oil paintings based on your ideas, photos, or special requests. Whether it's a portrait, a pet, or something abstract—reach out via the [Email] page to get started.

2. How long does a custom painting take?

Depending on size and complexity, commissions typically take 2–6 weeks. I’ll provide a timeline estimate during our initial consultation.

3. Can I choose a photo for you to paint from?

Absolutely. Many clients send a favourite photo or ask me to decide from a selection. I can also collaborate with photographers if you’re getting a professional shoot.

4. What kind of materials do you use?

I work exclusively in oil paints on high-quality canvas or board. All materials are archival and designed to last for generations.

5. Do you ship internationally?

No. Unfortunately, we cannot ship outside of Austria at the moment.

6. Where can I see your art in person?

7. What are art workshops?

Art workshops at ChrisSlevinArts are relaxed, hands-on creative sessions where people come together to paint, experiment, and express themselves — no prior experience needed. They’re guided by Chris Slevin and focus on bold colour, loose brushwork, storytelling, and confidence rather than strict rules or technical perfection.

8. Are there workshops for children?

Yes. ChrisSlevinArts offers a family workshop, designed to be creative, accessible, and fun. It’s for parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, or the whole family!

Private groups from 6 participants or from 3 bookings (six participants) go to painting and pints for more details.

9. Do you offer gift vouchers?

10. Can I buy prints of your work?

At the moment, I focus on original oil paintings, but limited edition prints may be coming soon. Stay tuned or sign up for the newsletter for updates.
